John H. Myers & Son is currently six locations strong and reaches into the markets of Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware, Northern Virginia and West Virginia. Myers provides builders, remodelers and homeowners with a broad range of products, design and engineering services, turn-key installation, and some of the most complete, one-stop showrooms in the area. Myers enjoys a leading position in the markets it serves.
John H. Myers & Son was established in 1916 by John H. Myers in Dallastown, PA. Through four generations of family leadership, the company supplied builders and remodelers with products and services that build homes and businesses throughout the communities of South Central Pennsylvania and Northern Maryland. Over the last 20 years Myers has grown considerably both organically and through the acquisition of related businesses. In 2008, Myers acquired the two largest operations of The Lumber Yard, another leading supplier of building products in its markets. The merger provided Myers with an even richer product and service model and created a formidable long-term partner for the builder and remodeler.
In July 2011, JOHN H. MYERS & SON was acquired by the US LBM Holdings, LLC family, a private equity firm formed by BlackEagle Partners, LLC in partnership with US LBM president, LT Gibson. US LBM is one of the fastest growing companies in the building supply industry and is recognized as the 13th largest lumber and building materials distributor in the country and ranks 15th on the HCN Top 200 Pro Dealer Scoreboard. As of 2014, the organization consists of 13 leading building material distributors serving the Midwest, Northeast, Southeast, Mid-Atlantic, and Western U.S in 11 states with more than 70 locations.
Bob Wood has a broad base of leadership experience in a variety of forest products industries. He served in numerous senior leadership roles for over 20 years with Glatfelter, a $1.5 billion manufacturer of specialty products. Positions included Treasurer, Secretary, Vice President of Administration and ultimately, Chief Strategy Officer. He was actively involved in M&A activities and the development and implementation of communications and strategic measurements of initiatives.
As CFO of Fypon, Ltd., Bob was a part of a private equity turnaround positioning the company for sale to a strategic buyer.
Since 2005, Bob has worked alongside a first-class team at Myers.
The team at Myers strives to see its customers achieve profitable growth by helping them manage their jobs and remove bottlenecks as they secure building products and services.
One example, the Myers Mobile app is a highly valuable tool used by Myers customers to monitor job sites deliveries and invoicing. When Myers customer’s jobs run seamlessly, they make more money and their customers look to them for repeat business.
Being in business for almost 100 years has taken us from simply supplying basic sawmill lumber to homeowners and farmers, to a full line supplier of products and services for the builder and remodeler, to currently offering unique products and solutions to our specialty contractors. The building and remodeling industry has become more specialized and many of Myers customers now focus on installing only certain products and have created specific niche services they can provide for their clients.
Building specialists require suppliers who know how to help them succeed. Myers understands this concept and has established business teams within its organization that specializes in roofing, siding, decking, cabinet and flooring product lines. Specialty products require specialty delivery equipment and deep inventory positions of quality product brands. Myers also provides installation services for many of the products it sells.
